CHURCH. Fairoak Chapel . Fairoak Green.
Built after 1874. The pulpit was brought from a chapel, which was over the stable at Bromley Hall. Two carved brackets which form the porch to the chapel were carved by Mr Naylor and his son; travellers from John O’ Groats to Land’s End (BOV pp27-28).

William Baker of Fenton Hall & of Hasfield Court, Gloucester, a local benefactor d1865, it was originally in chancel of old church. Rev. William Sollis 1st vicar of Fenton (from old church) d1873. Rev. Herbert E. Turner M.A. d1895, Proctor in Convocation, Rural Dean of Stoke-on-Trent & vicar of Fenton. Capitals of the pillars in memory of Joseph Weston & wife Elizabeth 1901. WW1 roll of honour, painted on board - very 1918ish. Another WW1 roll of honour - riddel & angel statues to their memory. Life-size figure of Christ on Cross in Lady chapel made in Oberammergau, it is in memory of Father R.A. Huntley d1954 (although there is no plaque. I was told this by a churchwarden).

Bombay Engineers d1847, also Lucretia Anne Turner d1875, & Mary Turner d1877 daughters of the above. E. window, 2 north lights - Charlotte Baker d1874. 2 south lights - Charlotte Baker d1874 & brother, Ralph Browne Baker M.A. d1875. E. window, centre light - Sarah Hitchman d1890. Joseph Grimson 1902. Window to commemorate coronation of Edward VII 1902. Luke Longbottom, he was chief engineer for the North Staffordshire Railway Company, & there is an image of a steam locomotive in top central light 1902. Thomas Wallis Grimson d1920. James Derby & wife Florence Elizabeth & daughters Mona Westray & Evelyn Victoria 1976 - this glass & the next two are restorations after the previous glass was vandalised. Edwin Povey Hewitt d1978. Joseph Emberton, organist d1978.
IN THE CHURCHYARD. A brick leaning staired plinth for obelisk (now gone) to commemorate all those moved from churchyard at the building of the new church, it is dated wrongly MDCCCLXC - this ought to be 1890.

IN THE CHURCHYARD. SE corner of church - Joseph Slack died Feb. 29 1836 aged 73 inscription suggests he died of a wound received from a fall. William Trubshaw d1836, he was a stone mason who made the memorial to: Rev. T.S. Bright d1838. Boughey family of Aqualate. Vice Admiral Charles Fenton Fletcher Boughey 4th son of John fenton Boughey Bart 1823-94.

FURNISHINGS. Three carpet pieces (long stripes of tapestry) for the sanctuary step worked by Mrs Anne Nichols in 1861. The carpets were in constant use from 1862 to July 1937. They now hang up in the nave. Wooven into the tapestries are the words from the 23rd Psalm. Pulpit is wooden, in each panel around the sides are numerous little shields bearing coats of arms, approx 70.
IN THE CHURCHYARD. Many graves to pilots, aircraftmen who died in WW2, particularly those in the Royal Australian Air Force.
